Rains.

Arguably the heaviest rainfall I have seen in Madras in the 22 years of my existence.
It has been raining incessantly today.
What does rain bring to Madras?? Cheer?? Yes I suppose so...but when it becomes too much..then everyone starts complaining..a classic example of how capricious the human mind can be :) Reminds me of a certain philosophy my cousin told me about. We all desperately want something. And the happiness that comes with achieving/owning that ends the moment you get it done.
Actually the downside to heavy rainfall is ...no going out, a wonderful weather that makes you want to sleep for that extra half an hour ( and its a x+15 mins clock, x=1,2,3...infinity) and finally on a more personal note plays foul with the study schedule since it brings with it a weather that will make you go anywhere but close to the books. No tennis.
This better take care of all the water problems next summer.
Exams are round the corner and the path is full of rain.

Cheers

Plan of action:
Put along a few bajjis and masala chai
Call a few friends home.
Arrange a game of carrom or monopoly
Play a best of 5 game, and keep adding one more to the series to redeem the prestige of the loser.

Plan b: only one friend available,
arrange a game of chess

And it keeps raining (you dont have to do much for this)

Ofourse, important exams are taken outside the equation.

Now for the antidote to the relaxing attitude:
One cup of strong filter Coffee (Quite important, dont ignore, needed to elevate the heart beat levels)
Sit away from your bed
Read 2 questions from each section of your exam, make sure you dont know answer for them.
Now Close your eyes
Think that, if you wont get that answer in the next 2 minutes and 23 seconds you are done!
After 2 minutes and 11 seconds, open your eyes. (How do you watch the time closing your eyes? Well, dont interrupt me!)
See the rain, you might no longer see it as relaxing.
Next close your eyes again
Think that, tomorrow morning 8.45 am is the exam and it is already 12.32 am now.
Think of the effort that will go down the drain.
open your eyes
run to the coffee and gulp it down.

You are ready to go!

Please note that this therapy is not to be tried more than once,
sample data recovered from earlier instances have shown traces of people confusing the actual exam for simulation at a later stage.

In the 'plan of action', the Game of monopoly which I said, is the original game of trade.

That game started as 'the Landlords game' in 1904 and later went on to be manufactured in mass production as monopoly. Ippo Indialvandu, for the last couple of decades some manufactures are selling it as 'trade' to avoid copyright issues.

And what is this, a 84 year old paati maadri you are telling "wish I was a kid". The game says 8 years and up. you are still eligible to play the game. All you need is some real money to buy the toy money set.

But play quietly, Ram is preparing for his exams.

2 much of anything is injurious, honestly while so many of us enjoyed the rains plenty of households have been badly affected

we are worying bout not being able to go out . play tennis ... but therz another side to it ... can u imagine ur house being flooded for two weeks?

the rains r indeed welcome by all, its the inadequate infrastructure of the city to cope up with it which makes people crib

ha ha catching up with sleep ;) ... gl with ur exams ... harward awaits u :p
